Arctic Council
The Arctic Council was established on
September
19th, 1996 in Ottawa, Canada. A high level intergovernmental forum, the Council
provides a mechanism to address the common concerns and challenges faced by
the Arctic governments and the people of the Arctic.
The
Barents Euro-Arctic Council
The Barents Euro-Arctic
Council (BEAC) is the body for intergovernmental cooperation in the
Barents region.
The BEAC was established in 1993 to support and promote regional
cooperation in the most northerly parts of Sweden, Norway, Finland and
northwest Russia. The BEAC should encourage sustainable economic and
social development in the Barents region and thus contribute to peaceful
development in the most northern part of Europe.
Conference of Parliamentaries of
the Arctic Region
The Conference of Parliamentarians of the Arctic Region (CPAR) is a parliamentary body comprising delegations appointed by the national parliaments of the Arctic states (Canada, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Russia, Sweden, U.S.A.) and the European Parliament. The conference also includes Permanent Participants representing Indigenous peoples, as well as observers.

IASC is a non-governmental, international
organisation established to encourage and facilitate cooperation in all aspects
of arctic research in all countries engaged in arctic research,and in all
areas of the arctic region.
