“When they are young, many kids want to be astronauts or explore new planets. I was wondering what I could explore on Mars. What should I be, and what kind of explorers will be selected to go to Mars?”

"What attracts me in this field is the reconstruction of the past. It is like detective work, and that’s what I like about ice core chemistry. I surprise myself by talking to the ice, sometimes. It’s maybe a little bit strange.”

”Ice research is amazing. It’s like the life of James Bond. There are public relations and a lot of travelling. And all the time you are learning something new. I would definitely recommend a career in research for every kid I meet.”
